Midtown Development Corporation (MDC) has developed or assisted in the development of more than 100 projects with a total investment of approximately $25 million. Midtown Development was chosen Developer of the Year in 2002 by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development. 

Midtown Development is distinctive among Baltimore’s nonprofit developers in its ability to plan and develop both market-rate and affordable housing. Midtown Development strives to reverse decades of disinvestment in Baltimore City neighborhoods by developing projects that will lead to greater investment and greater economic activity. Midtown Development works on its own account, forms partnerships and joint ventures, and staffs community development corporations.

Development Assistance

Midtown Development Corporation operates a "one-stop shop” technical assistance center for anyone who wants to undertake a high-quality renovation of a residential building. We help homeowners shop for houses; find architects and contractors, and oversee construction.  We help to find and coordinate financing for acquisition and rehabilitation, and handle the complicated paperwork for historic tax credits.  We manage rehab loan pools of more than $1 million.
