Midtown Development's standard fee for administering the residential tax credit process is 7% of the state tax credit award, while commercial projects are billed on an hourly basis, with a minimum of $1000. Initial consultations are free.

Tax Credit Benefits

  • Maryland – the State refunds 20% of eligible expenditures. It does not matter how much Maryland tax you pay; even non-profits are eligible.
  • Baltimore City – the City reduces applicants' property tax burden for ten years by adjusting the property tax liability to reflect the property's pre-renovation assessment.
  • Federal – the Federal government credits 20% of eligible expenditures against Federal taxes owed (only income-producing properties are eligible)
